BREAKAWAY'S FATHER-SON ADVENTURES 2008
We've extended the deadline for Breakaway's Rocky Mountain 7-Day Adventure. Sign up now to go deep with your dad!

TAKE A HIGH-ALTITUDE ADVENTURE!

Come join the fun! This summer we’re offering two life-changing wilderness options—all for the purpose of connecting fathers and sons.

PLEASE NOTE: The Roaring Rapids 5-Day Adventure is full. But spaces are available for the 7-day trip. We've extended the application deadline to JUNE 6, so apply now for our Rocky Mountain 7-Day Adventure.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN 7-DAY ADVENTURE: June 21–27, 2008

The Cost: $759 per person

The Experience: This excursion is based at Horn Creek Retreat Center next to Colorado’s Sangre de Cristo Mountains. You’ll enjoy a restful night’s sleep in a cabin, hearty home-cooked food, as well as nonstop camp fun: evening worship, powerful speakers, a first-rate recreation center and use of onsite swimming pools and waterslides. In addition, you’ll hike in the Rockies, hang out on the ropes course, raft the Arkansas and take part in plenty of other outdoor electives: horseback riding, kayaking, even a challenging white-water ride on the Arkansas River. Prime rapids and breathtaking wilderness will make for lifetime memories and deeper relationships.

ROARING RAPIDS 5-DAY ADVENTURE: July 28–Aug. 4, 2008*

PLEASE NOTE: As of March 18 this trip is full. We recommend that you apply instead for the Rocky Mountain 7-Day Adventure.

The Cost: $499 per person.

The Experience: This excursion is based at Noah’s Ark headquarters along the shores of Colorado’s famous Arkansas River. You’ll camp in a “weather port” with other fathers and sons and take part in thrill-a-minute activities such as hiking, rock climbing and rafting between the towering granite walls of Browns Canyon. Each evening you’ll enjoy group games and campfire conversations. This rustic Colorado experience will draw fathers and sons together and transform ordinary guys into extraordinary Christ-built warriors!

*A Note About Roaring Rapids Dates: Within this eight-day period, there will be three to four staggered trip-groups, each following its own five-day schedule. During the application process, we will assign you to one of these groups.

Group A:
Mon. July 28 – Fri. Aug. 1

Group C:
Wed. July 30 – Sun. Aug. 3
Group B:
Tues. July 29 – Sat. Aug. 2
Group D:
Thurs. July 31 – Mon. Aug. 4

THE IMPACT

Check out the following comments from past participants. Then make plans for your very own father-son adventure.

The trip has drawn us closer together. Sure, we will still disagree over some things (what father and son don’t?), but I will always know that my dad loves me so much that he would give his life for me—and I for him.
—Caleb Casteel, 15, Palm Bay, Fla.

The most cherished moment for me was the blessing time of talking about our sons’ identity, character and our relationships. It was a deeply honest and intimate moment for the group and especially for Mike and me.
—Thad (Dad) Mazurczyk, Littleton, Colo.

Spending time by myself with my dad was the best part of the trip.
—Kory Soots, Parkton, Md.

It was great to meet fathers and sons from every corner of the country and many walks of life. It gave us a unique look at our country and how God is working in the lives of other families. We made lifelong friends in the midst of this great trip.
—Marc (Dad) Soots, Parkton, Md.
